Phlebotomist II

The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in performing various assigned duties, including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.

Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.

Decontaminate and update patient information.

Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.

Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.

Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.

Understand and follow all physicians' orders.

Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.

Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.

Ensure 100% accuracy in checking test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.

Package specimens for transport, maintaining integrity as per protocol.

Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.

Attend annual department training sessions.

Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture.

Experience with blood draws and specimen collection.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).

Ability to draw blood using various techniques, including butterfly needles.

1+ years of phlebotomist experience in hospital setting

Pediatric experience is required.

This is a fulltime position with multiple shift opportunities. No part time opportunities available at this time.

This is a Permanent position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.

The pay range for this position is $38771.20 - $49920.00/yr.
