Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Medical Laborory Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Morrisville, Vermont. Required Qualificions:
  • One year of recent experience as a Medical Laborory Technician
  • Valid license when needed in compliance with any ste regulions
Preferred Qualificions:
  • Nional certificion through ASCP or equivalent such as AMT, AAB, HEW certificions
  • Current BLS certificion (AHA/ARC)
  • Other certificions or licenses may be required for this position
Summary:

The Medical Laborory Technician assists in performing routine and moderely complex laborory tests across multiple diagnostic areas, including chemistry, hemology, microbiology, immunology, and toxicology. This role involves analyzing body fluids and specimens, ensuring the accuracy of test results, and maintaining laborory equipment.

Essential Work Functions:
  • Perform routine diagnostic laborory tests in areas such as chemistry, hemology, and immunology
  • Prepare and process specimens for analysis, ensuring accure labeling and handling
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results by following quality control protocols
  • Follow standard opering procedures and regulory guidelines (AABB, CAP, FDA, CLIA)
  • Support the investigion of transfusion reactions by collecting and preparing necessary samples
  • Opere and maintain laborory instruments, performing troubleshooting within scope
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and escale issues as needed
  • Communice test results clearly and professionally to other healthcare professionals
  • Follow laborory safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and hospital procedures
  • Maintain detailed and accure records of test results, calibrions, and quality control measures
  • Assist with inventory management, reagent preparion, and stocking lab supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulory standards
Required Essential Skills:
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communicion skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communice in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stionary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive titude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulion, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentrion to detail
  • Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communice
