Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, following established protocols and safety procedures. Explain procedures to patients with sensitivity and professionalism, creating a trusting atmosphere that alleviates anxiety. Maintain detailed records of collections, sample processing, and patient interactions in accordance with regulatory standards. Required Skills: Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, including skills with pediatric and geriatric blood draws. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients. Competent keyboard and data entry skills to manage patient information and lab documentation efficiently. Nice to Have Skills: Medical assistant or paramedic training. Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states such as California, Nevada, and Washington). Experience in a retail or service setting providing customer care. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and lab information management systems (LIS). Preferred Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 6 months of hands-on phlebotomy experience is required; over one year of experience is preferred. Additional medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic background is advantageous. Other Requirements: Flexibility to work Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, and Friday mornings until 12:00 pm, with availability for weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed. Phlebotomy certification required in specific states to comply with licensing regulations. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks related to specimen collection.
