Firefighter/EMT

Under the direction of the Fire Chief and command staff, Firefighter/EMTs perform fire suppression, EMS response, rescue operations, fire prevention activities, and related duties required to protect life and property. Minimum Requirements: Valid driver's license, State of Michigan Firefighter I & II certifications, and State of Michigan EMT or Paramedic license. Conditions of Employment: Pass drug screening, pass physical fitness test, complete a psychological evaluation and security/background check, must live within 95 mile straight-line radius of Manistee Fire Department, and demonstrate commitment to the mission, values, and operational expectations of the Manistee Fire Department. Paramedic Requirement: New hires, where necessary, will be required to successfully complete a paramedic program at the employer's expense and become licensed as a paramedic within two (2) years.
