Required Skills/Experience:- If completion of an acceptable program of Neurophysiology: no prior experience required.- Requires High School Diploma if no graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology AND two (2) years of experience performing a variety of Sleep or Neurodiagnostics procedures.

Unit Details:- May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab.- Performs diagnostic patient testing electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP).- Performs room and equipment set-up and placement in hospital rooms, operating rooms, or clinics.- Calibrates and maintains equipment.- Reads and scores neurodiagnostic and/or polysomnographic tests.- Takes patient histories.- Instructs patients and families on test preparation, pre-test interviews, and follow-up appointments.- Position could be temp to perm dependent on contractor performance and available internal positions.

Shift & Scheduling:- Variable - Days/Nights - 7p-7:30a or 7a-7:30p.- Shifts may be on the weekend if necessary.- Must be able to work UNC holidays if needed.- No call.

Required Credentials: Registry eligible for one of the following specialty areas: EP (Evoked Potentials-R. EP T.).; Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM); Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV); Polysomnography (RPSGT); Registered Sleep Technologist (RST).

BLS (Basic Life Support)

R EEG T (Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist) or the alternative certification CLTM
