Job Details Click to go Back to Job Listings May 4, 2026, 2:33:12 PM HST Title of Position Surgical Technician Trainee Work Hours Regular Full-Time (Req #2026-119; 2026-120) Rotating 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week. On-call assignments outside of regularly scheduled hours may be required. Subsidiary Kuakini Medical Center Description of Position Responsible to participate in classroom education and clinical training to gain necessary knowledge and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Surgical Technician in a hospital. Functions include scrubbing; preparation of the perioperative theatre; preparing and assembling instruments, equipment and supplies; assisting surgeons with perioperative procedures; post-procedure room cleaning; and collecting instruments and equipment for processing. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent and knowledge of medical terminology is required. Basic understanding of the perioperative setting and one (1) year work experience within a surgical department in a hospital is preferred or any combination of education and experience, which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Requires current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) at a level of Basic Life Support (BLS). Course Start Date: July 27, 2026 (may be subject to change) NOTE: Placement into the position in Surgery Department is subject to successful completion of the Surgical Technician Trainee Course.
