Full-Time/Night Shift

The Lead Histotechnologist acts as a senior technical expert in the histology lab, responsible to overseeing daily operations, performing complex tissue processing, staining, and troubleshooting equipment. They ensure compliance, assist and coordinate training new staff, and maintain quality control standards. They act as a bridge between lab staff and management, combining hands-on technical work with lead duties such workflow management and quality assurance.

Required Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED, And
  • Coursework/Training: Completion of Histotechnologist Apprenticeship Program OR accredited Histotechnologist training program., Or Histotechnician or Histotechnologist (HT, HTL) Certification or Registry from a government or nationally recognized professional organization (e.g. ASCP).
  • Upon hire: Histotechnician - American Society for Clinical Pathology (Facility Managed), Or
  • Upon hire: Histotechnologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology (Facility Managed)
  • 8 years Progressive experience in Histotechnology in an equivalent high volume or acute care laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Courses in Algebra, Chemistry, and Biology., Or equivalent education/experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Courses in Algebra, Chemistry, and Biology., Or equivalent education/experience
  • 1 year Lead experience.
