Medical Lab Supervisor Jobs in Phoenix, AZ
A Medical Lab Supervisor in the med tech industry oversees the daily operations of a medical or clinical laboratory. They ensure that the lab adheres to standard procedures and regulations for analyzing specimen samples, and troubleshoot any technical issues with the lab equipment or processes. They also supervise and direct lab staff, provide training, and manage scheduling and budgeting. They report to management on lab operations, implement policies to improve efficiency, and ensure quality control and safety within the lab.
Key skills for a Medical Lab Supervisor include attention to detail, leadership, good communication, and technical competence in lab procedures and equipment. They should be certified as a medical technologist (MT) or clinical laboratory scientist (CLS) and may also need certification in laboratory management. Prior to becoming a Medical Lab Supervisor, a person may have roles as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Laboratory Technician, gaining experience in performing lab tests and understanding lab operations.
