Cardiovascular Technician Jobs in Falmouth, MA
A Cardiovascular Technician, also known as a Cardiovascular Technologist, plays a vital role in the med tech industry by assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating heart and blood vessel ailments. They primarily perform non-invasive procedures, such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), stress tests, and Holter monitoring, while some specialize in invasive procedures, such as cardiac catheterizations. They are also responsible for preparing patients for procedures, monitoring patients' heart rates, and maintaining and operating heart monitoring systems.
A Cardiovascular Technician should hold a certification from either the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Crucial skills for this role include attention to detail, technical competency, and strong interpersonal skills due to the high level of patient interaction. Before stepping into the role of a Cardiovascular Technician, a person may have roles like EKG Technician or Medical Assistant.
