Job Description Support blood testing in a reference laboratory. Learn job skills, company policies, and procedures to complete routine tasks such as testing, editing, and reporting clinical tests. Handle routine assignments and make decisions with guidance from a supervisor or lead. Responsibilities
- Test and review quality control before releasing test results, including documentation and reporting.
- Maintain lab equipment and fix issues with equipment and methods.
- Follow all lab safety rules, including using PPE and proper disposal of biohazards.
- Act as a contact for questions and research about samples and test results. Help coordinate department workflow.
- Order reagents, chemicals, equipment parts, and other items as needed.
- Understand and explain methods and specifications as requested.
- Show continued competence in all areas.
- Complete proficiency testing, including reviews, investigations, and collecting quality control data.
- Assist with validation studies, analyze data, and suggest solutions for issues.
- Report issues to the supervisor for resolution.
- Follow the Code of Business Conduct and all company policies, procedures, and assist with various projects as assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Biological Sciences required.
- 1+ year of lab experience.
- Demonstrated basic experience in clinical laboratory required.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- PC literacy required.
- Ability to follow precise directions in a situation requiring speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Previous blood testing experience and ASCP preferred, not required.
- 0 3 years related experience.
- Prior experience with laboratory systems preferred.
