Summary of Job Duties: Performs testing of patient samples, interprets, reviews, and prepares patient test results for review by the Supervisor and/or Medical Director.Maintains all aspects of QC and QA relevant to the CAP certification standards.
Interacts with staff from various departments to coordinate the proper acquisition, testing and reporting of patient test results.
Ensures that the supplies used in the testing of patient samples are available in adequate quantities and that they are used efficiently.
Assist in employee/student training and employee competency as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Sciences OR an approved ASCP discipline (30 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the Bachelor's). ASCP or another accrediting agency certified or eligible (Certification must be obtained within one year of employment).
CHT (ABHI) certification within 1 year of eligibility. (If eligible at time of hire then within 1 year of hire date.)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory or clinical laboratory science
Previous clinical laboratory experience, preferably in microbiology
Current ASCP and/or CHT (ABHI) certification

The shift for this position is 2:00 pm-11:00 pm
