Wyandanch Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corporation
The Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corporation (WWHAC) is a non-profit agency within the Town of Babylon, located in Suffolk County, New York. The Corporation consists of the Board of Directors, their employees, and volunteer members and handling approximately 2500 calls every year. In 1979, the Wyandanch Wheatley Heights improvement district was established to provide Emergency Medical Services for the communities of Wyandanch and Wheatley Heights, a geographical area, compassing four square miles. We provide emergency medical services, 24-hours,7 days a week. We became a New York State Certified Ambulance Service, in 1983, the first in the Town of Babylon and one of the first on Long Island.
In 1984, the WWHAC began to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) to the community; making us the first in New York State to provide an Advanced Life Support First Responder Car and the first to utilize Supervisors' vehicles to further facilitate operations.
