Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist

Piper Companies is looking for a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist to join a preclinical laboratory company located in Norton Shores, MI.

Responsibilities of the Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist include:

• Perform independent analysis and determine sample acceptability based on established criteria
• Conduct advanced processing of blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, and other specimens in accordance with SOPs and sponsor requirements
• Operate and monitor laboratory instrumentation (chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis analyzers)
• Review quality control, preventative maintenance data, and ensure GLP compliance
• Execute equipment validation, calibrations, and performance evaluations
• Prepare and evaluate reagents, controls, and calibrators
• Analyze microbiological samples and support advanced testing procedures
• Document, review, and maintain laboratory data in compliance with established systems
• Write and implement standard operating procedures and validation scripts
• Pilot new procedures and support process improvement initiatives
• Coordinate sample workflow and communicate findings with internal teams, Study Directors, and Sponsors
• Train and mentor laboratory staff

Qualifications for the Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist include:

• BA/BS in a relevant discipline (Associate degree acceptable)
• 5+ years of medical laboratory experience (healthcare or preclinical environment)
• Strong experience with hematology analyzers and laboratory instrumentation
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• Organized, adaptable, with strong communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation for Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist includes:

• Rate Range: $90,000 - $100,000+, depending on experience
• Comprehensive Benefit Package: Cigna Medical/Dental/Vision, 401K, Sick Leave as Required by Law
