Medical Lab Technician

The Medical Laborory Technician (MLT)utilizesskills and training to performtest of samplesof blood,urineand other body fluids to obtain informionutilizedin diagnosis and evaluion of pient medical stus. Participes in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains cultural awarenesswhen dealing with pients, visitors, co-workersand all other customers. Promotes a supportive, team-workoriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission,visionand values of the facility.

Wh you will do in this role:

• You will handle specimen processing,preanalyticinspection of specimens foridentificionand integrity.

• You will performvarious typesof laborory test(s) on pient specimens,evaluestest results, and report/enter/verify test results in Laborory Informion System.

• You will perform andevaluesperiodic quality control per policy and procedure.

• You will evalue new and/or modified procedures, reagents and instruments as directed bySectionCoordinor.

• Troubleshoots all instruments as directed by SectionCoordinor.

• Participes in hospital initiives and in department goals set by the Laborory Director and Manager

Wh qualificions you will need:

• Associe degree; Graduefroma NCCLS accredited Medical Technician program.

• Hospital laborory experience preferred.
