Job Summary and Qualifications

This Job Description provides criteria for evaluation of the Paramedic working in a staff position. The paramedic may provide care for infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.

Job Duties:

  • Performs patient care functions in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.:
  • Keeps licensed nurse informed of patient activities/changes in condition.
  • Routinely performs venipunctures for laboratory specimens.
  • Responds to a customer friendly atmosphere by answers call lights and refer to licensed nurse as needed.
  • Responsible for physical appearance of the nursing unit.
  • Transports patients, including those requiring cardiac monitoring.
  • Perform and interpret ECG rhythm strips and Performs 12-lead ECGs.
  • Performs Point of Care (POC) testing in accordance with written policies and procedures
  • Obtains IV access per protocols as needed.
  • Attends stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring during off unit testing, (i.e. CT scan, MRI etc.).
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • No Travel Required
  • 1 years experience Required Years of Experience
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
  • Paramedic, or (NRP) Nationally Registered Paramedic, or (EMT) Emergency Medical Technician
