What You’ll Do

As a Lead Medical Technologist, you’ll ensure the smooth, accurate, and compliant operation of your assigned laboratory section or shift. You’ll support staff, maintain quality systems, and collaborate with leadership to uphold high standards of patient care. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and supervising lab operations including scheduling, training, and workflow management
  • Maintaining policies and procedures in alignment with hospital, departmental, and regulatory standards
  • Monitoring quality control programs daily to identify outliers, shifts, and trends
  • Ensuring accurate and timely test results using properly functioning test systems
  • Reviewing staff work within 24 hours to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Selecting and implementing testing methodologies authorized by the Laboratory Medical Director
  • Supporting costeffective operations through budgeting awareness and resource management
  • Promoting Service Excellence and modeling professional standards for all customer groups

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

Licensure / Certification / Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or related science
  • Minimum 3–5 years clinical laboratory experience required; 5–8 years preferred
  • Current MT, MLT, or MLS certification (or eligibility) from an authorized accrediting agency
  • Must meet CLIA ’88 personnel requirements
  • Strong mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the undergraduate or graduate level
