Job Summary:
Assists anesthesiologists with the administration of formulated therapeutic plans for anesthetic care. Performs routine assigned clinical tasks of limited complexity. Works under direct supervision within defined parameters.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Associates/Technical Degree in biology, chemistry, physics, math or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA): Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Certified Anesthesia Tech (CAT): Required
Essential Functions:
- Gathers patient data and assists with physical and mental patient evaluations. Documents surgical procedures and assists directing anesthesiologists with the administration of formulated therapeutic plans for anesthetic care.
- Makes decisions regarding own work, often limited and confined to routine matters. Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
