Job Purpose : Coordinates and assists in all anesthesia needs.

Education & Training: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Required Licenses/Certifications : BLS certification required.

Work Experience : 1 to 2 years of operating room experience preferred.

The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds and rarely lift more than 25 pounds.

Special Requirements : Verbal and writing ability required to communicate effectively in informing employees of activities and policies. Numerical ability required. Ability to receive, comprehend, and carry out instructions; ability to work safely with equipment, supplies, and materials; ability to comply with attendance requirements; ability to comply with Human Resource policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Maintains anesthesia machines and equipment.
  • Sets up operating rooms with required anesthesia and physiologic monitoring equipment in preparation for anesthesia in surgical and obstetric suites.
  • Removes and cleans equipment at end of procedures (if possible) and restocks anesthesia supplies for subsequent use.
  • Skill & knowledge of invasive lines preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation Checklist(s).
  • Meets mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives.
  • Attends all meetings and trainings as required
  • Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific jobrelated hazards.
  • Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions.
  • Wears proper identification while on duty.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
