About the Role
Under the supervision of the Chief Technologist, the Neurophysiology EEG Technologist performs routine and advanced EEG procedures on both inpatient and outpatient populations of all ages. This includes bedside ICU monitoring, long-term continuous EEG monitoring, and sleep EEG studies.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical environment with exposure to a wide range of neurological and critical care cases.

Onsite in Boston, MA
Work settings include:
EEG Laboratory
Intensive Care Units (ICU)
Emergency Department
Inpatient bedside monitoring
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & EEG Monitoring
Perform routine awake/sleep EEG studies and long-term monitoring
Conduct bedside EEGs in ICU and emergency settings
Explain procedures and prepare patients/families for testing
Monitor recordings and identify normal vs. abnormal activity
Recognize and troubleshoot artifacts during studies
Technical & Clinical Skills
Apply electrodes using the International 10-20 System
Operate EEG equipment and monitoring systems
Use activation procedures including:
Hyperventilation
Photic stimulation
Sleep protocols
Documentation & Reporting
Collect patient history and clinical information
Enter patient data accurately into reporting systems
Prepare technical reports to assist physician interpretation
Retrieve and review prior recordings for comparison
Equipment & Lab Maintenance
Troubleshoot and maintain EEG equipment
Report major equipment repair needs
Maintain laboratory inventory and cleanliness
Follow all departmental safety, confidentiality, and quality procedures
Qualifications
Graduate of an EEG Training Program or Associate Degree Program
Minimum 6 months of patient care experience preferred
Eligible for ABRET certification within 2 years of hire
Ability to perform EEG studies on patients of all ages
