Location: Amherst, NY
Shift: 4, 10 hour days. Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 4:30pm. Must be flexible to work occasional Saturdays.
Position Summary: Administers EEG tests to obtain data for analysis and diagnosis of disorders in the brain and central nervous system. Prior EEG experience not required (we will train!) but general clinic experience is helpful.
Responsibilities of Position:
- Performs EEG studies on all patients as ordered by physicians
- Greets patient and explains procedure
- Obtains medical history pertinent to EEG
- Prepares patient properly assisting in administration of medication if needed
- Monitors patient for safety and records any reactions throughout exam
- Provides appropriate aftercare
- Maintains proper and appropriate records, logs and statistics of all patients seen in lab.
- Operates a variety medical equipment including Digital EEG, ambulatory EEG, computers, printers and recording devices.
- Assists in clerical duties as needed, functioning as a member of the health care team.
Skills Necessary:
- Strong communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to learn new technology and systems
- Familiarity with the clinic environment
- Ability to manage time and complete both testing and clerical tasks
Compensation:
- Most candidates will start within the first quartile of the pay range
- Rates are commensurate with experience
