Required Education:High School Diploma or GEDPreferred Education:Associate's degreeRequired Licensure/Certifications:Florida Paramedic LicenseBLS from the American Heart AssociationACLS from the American Heart AssociationPALS from the American Heart AssociationCandidate must have 2 or more years of driving experience and must be insurable by thehospital's business auto insurance carrier.Must possess a valid Florida Driver's LicenseCertification of completion of a Florida approved Emergency Vehicle Operations driving course(NAPD or EVOC) must be completed within 30 days of date of hire/transferWithin six months of hire or transfer: Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Advanced Medical Life Support, FEMA IS 100, FEMA IS 200, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, UF Health Jacksonville DECON training.Preferred Licensure/Certifications:National Registry ParamedicACLS InstructorPALS InstructorPHTLSEmergency Pediatric CareNecessary Skills:1. Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment.2. Ability to work in highly stressful situation.3. Customer relations and organization skills are essential.4. Adheres to Hospital Policy, and the Florida Department of Emergency Medical Services guidelines in providing patient care.5. Familiar with Advanced Life Support patient care equipment.6. Demonstrated knowledge of pathophysiology related to cardiac, pulmonary, renal and neurological systems.Required Experience:Less than 1 year of EMS of healthcare fieldPreferred Experience:Over 2-3 years of field experience in an active 911 Emergency Medical ServiceAge of Patients Served:All age groupsSupervisory Responsibility:NoBudgetary Responsibility:N/A
