Subsidiary Kuakini Medical Center Description of Position Performs duties of a registered Medical Technologist under close supervision. This position is a temporary assignment for recently graduated students from an approved School of Medical Technology who have taken or are eligible to take a national registry examination such as the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and are awaiting notification or certification. Promotion to Medical Technologist when proof of certification is received. Qualifications and Requirements Requires a Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university and successful completion of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) or National Agency on Accreditation for Clinical Laboratory Scientists (NAACLS)-accredited medical technology program, which includes clinical training in an accredited hospital. Clinical training must include chemistry, hemotology, microbiology, parasitology, serology, immunology/Blood Bank, and urinalysis; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Requires proof of acceptance by a national accrediting body such as the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists to take the registry exam. Must have applied for or intend to apply for a Hawaii Clinical Laboratory Technologist license.
