- Responsible for gaining advanced knowledge of instruments through the entire CSS process. This includes, but is not limited to, decontamination, assembly complete inspection and packaging and sterilization.
- Responsible for gaining knowledge and competency in case cart assembly and management.
- Responds to OR needs via telephone documentation of request follow through.
- Participates on Quality Improvement Teams as requested and Quality initiative in department.
- Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
- Assists in collection and monitoring of use of quality indicators in daily operations.
- Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
- All responsibilities are essential job functions unless noted otherwise.
- Responsible for CEUs and maintaining certification with a recognized certification agency.
- High school diploma or GED certification.
- Certification by a recognized certification agency as a Certified Central Processing Technician is required.
- Advanced knowledge of CSS processing functions.
- Demonstrated competencies in complex instrumentation such as but not limited to ENT, GYN/OB, Laparoscopic, Ortho, and Urology services.
