What You Will Do
- Responsible for maintaining the equipment and supplies; assists in the acquisition of data by performing EKG, and with application of holter/event monitors independently; including explanation of test, application of electrodes using accepted techniques and placement, recognizes the difference between acceptable waveforms, artifact and rhythm abnormalities.
- Assists with stress echo and nuclear stress testing according to hospital and departmental policy.
- Properly bills for completed procedures.
- Must demonstrate the ability to assess patients' status and identify each patients requirements relative to their age specific needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education
- High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
- Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology program (CCT or CRAT) (Preferred)
- 2+ years Of experience as a cardiovascular technician (Required)
- Successful completion of training as a cardiovascular technician (Required proficiency)
- Strong communication, team-work, problem-solving and interpersonal skills (Required proficiency)
- Recognition of cardiac arrhythmias (Required proficiency)
- Stress testing; (Required proficiency)
- Holter monitors; (Required proficiency)
