Open Door is seeking a Phlebotomist for its Family Medical Center in Port Chester, NY. The Phlebotomist will provide laboratory services in accordance with professional standards and practices.

Responsibilities

Responsible for laboratory/clinical staff training.

Assures adherence to applicable quality assurance standards.

Cleans, maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment and instruments. Performs QC on instruments as required.

Responsible for appropriate communication/Informs the Laboratory Supervisor/Practice Administrator of any lab management of operating problems that may affect quality of lab results and standards of patient services

Initiates inter-laboratory contact for problem solving as in questionable results, etc.

Responsible for checking daily pending/outstanding lab reports in eCW and follow up with PCT staff.

Responsible for checking and handling critical results on lab tests.

Performs all routine tests such as: hemoglobin fingerstick, hemoglobin A1C fingerstick, dipstick urinalysis, urine pregnancy test, fecal occult blood test

Processes samples for send out testing.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Phlebotomy training

Phlebotomy / Medical Assistant Certificate required.

Superior customer service skills and experience

Flexible and solutions driven

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

eClinicalWorks experience preferred or knowledge of other electronic medical record system.

Provides assistance to patients in a compassionate, caring, cheerful and concerned manner

Passionate about providing high quality care to low-income, under-served residents and those lacking access to health care.

Maintains patient confidentiality at all times

Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement

Outstanding verbal and written communications, with a culturally diverse patient and staff population

Maintains a safe environment of care for patients and staff

Responsive and comfortable working in a fast-paced high accountability environment with different types of providers.
