Join our team as a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist in Plantation, FL, functioning as a member of a cardiac surgical team. You will assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during cardiac procedures, prepare the operating room, manage sterile instrumentation, and support the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current certification from a program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a CVOR/CST technologist in an acute cardiac surgical environment.
- Demonstrated ability to scrub assist in open heart cases, including CABG, valve procedures (MVR/AVR), and pacemaker procedures.
- Experience with open heart instrumentation and supplies.
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced OR environment and provide relief coverage across multiple service lines when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
- Familiarity with endovascular procedures and standby support for TVAR and mitral clip cases.
- Previous experience working in a hospital CVOR with a 2:1 patient ratio and small dedicated cardiac suites.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 06:4515:15.
- Call requirements: On-call required; approximately every other day and every other weekend.
- May need to provide lunch relief across service lines including Vascular, Robotics, General, Orthopedics, Neuro/Spine, Urology, Podiatry, Thoracic, and Plastic Surgery.
