Job Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a meticulous and experienced Cytotechnologist to examine cellular samples for abnormalities, infections, and malignancies. This position is primarily structured for travel assignments , ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented and excited by the opportunity to work in varied clinical laboratories across the country.
Responsibilities- Prepare and examine cytologic specimens under a microscope to detect evidence of cancer or other diseases.
- Accurately identify cell abnormalities and document findings in pathology reports.
- Collaborate with pathologists for diagnostic evaluations and case reviews.
- Maintain specimen integrity and adhere to laboratory protocols for specimen handling and staining.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines (CLIA, CAP, OSHA, etc.).
- Maintain accurate records and update laboratory information systems.
- Travel to and quickly adapt to new laboratory settings and workflows.
- Bachelors degree in Cytotechnology or related biological science.
- ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) required.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in cytopathology preferred.
- Strong analytical and observational skills with a focus on quality.
- Familiarity with gynecological and non-gynecological specimen types.
- Willingness and ability to accept travel assignments to multiple facilities.
