Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall Management of workforce training program. Provides students with experience in both a professional and educational setting. Fosters a networking and learning environment where students will have the opportunity to develop relevant work skills, earn academic credit, and advance in their professional careers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversees and manages the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the Medical Laboratory Technology program
Prepares and administers budget
Supervises and assess the performance of part-time faculty, instructional and support staff
Oversees didactic and clinical instructional processes including student evaluations and schedules
Ensures the program meets all necessary requirements to maintain NAACLS accreditation
Counsels and advises students
Coordinates development of curriculum and revisions
Prepares course schedules and makes instructional assignments
Markets program and recruits students
Participates in department, college and professional activities/events
Provides leadership in maintaining accreditation standards
Maintains required BCI and up to date immunizations
Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Master's or Doctoral Degree
Must hold a nationally recognized ASCP-BOC or ASCP-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist
Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical laboratory science education that includes teaching courses, conducting and managing learning experiences, evaluating student achievement, providing input into curriculum development, policy and procedure formulation, and evaluation of program effectiveness
Must successfully complete a Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) Background Check to include fingerprinting, social security number trace, county record search, state search, and a check of Federal Bureau of Investigation records
Must provide proof of required immunizations as specified at:
Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others
Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the strategy, management and operations within a department
Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Possess comprehensive knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures
Possess strong organizational, time-management and problem solving skills
Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail
Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment
Ability to promote collaboration, teamwork, and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes
Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume and service environment
Ability to research and analyze issues and develop solutions
Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of students.

Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing, and monitoring a business area's budget

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type.However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
Work is partially performed in an environment with sufficient noise that may cause an employee to shout in order to be heard above the noise level;
Work is partially performed in an environment exposing employees to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals;
Work is partially performed in an environment with conditions that affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation;
Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
Target Starting Salary Range: $80,000 to $90,000
The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
Special Note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
