Jackson HealthPros is hiring a Clinical / Medical Laboratory Scientist (formerly Medical Technologist) to perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits to aid physicians in the diagnosis or monitoring of various disease states. This position is located in Knoxville, TN at a hospital facility. Night shift assignment with specific hours provided below.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree from an accredited Medical Lab Technician program or equivalent from an institution of higher education preferred. Bachelors degree may be required by specific clients.
- Valid MLT certification through TN State Licensure, ASCP, AMT, AAB, HHS, or equivalent accrediting agency required. TN state license preferred.
- Alternate qualification: Meet CLIA military grandfathering provisions if applicable (completion of an official U.S. military medical laboratory procedures training course of at least 50 weeks and prior military occupational specialty as Medical Laboratory Specialist).
- Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience as a CLS/MLS/Med Tech or MLT.
- Experience with chemistry, hematology, and blood bank preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred.
- BLS certification as required by client.
Preferred Qualifications
- TN state laboratory licensure preferred.
- Prior hospital laboratory experience in an acute care setting.
- Experience performing a variety of diagnostic testing and quality control procedures.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 1800 - 0630.
- Schedule pattern: 3x12s with alternating weekends.
- No on-call requirement.
- Floating to other laboratories may be required.
- Scrub color: gray.
