Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical devices using approved procedures and equipment.
Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality; report any damage or missing items.
Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established protocols.
Operate sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, gas sterilizers) and monitor cycle parameters.
Maintain accurate records of sterilization loads and inventory.
Store and distribute sterile supplies and equipment to the appropriate departments.
Adhere to infection control and safety procedures at all times.
Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of instruments.
Stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., AAMI, AORN, OSHA).
