Job Summary:

The Patient Flow Critical Care Paramedic will coordinate the placement of all admissions (elective and emergent) and transfers in accordance with the clinical standards and guidelines. This position will also be responsible for ensuring the patient is admitted to the most appropriate bed available using criteria for admission. The Patient Flow Critical Care Paramedic will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of the admitted patient placement as well as ensuring discharges are done in a timely manner. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required as well as the ability to work well with the medical staff and other hospital departments in an effort to promote good will and expedite patient care and continually improve community satisfaction. An ability to promote teamwork is essential along with a commitment to promote the professional growth of the team members through mentoring and in-services.

Education:

Required:

Accredited CCP-Paramedic training.

Preferred:

Experience:

Required:

Minimum of two years progressive clinical experience. Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment. Demonstrated ability to lead by influence. Demonstrated excellence in business operations/development. Strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders (physicians, nursing leadership, nursing staff, patients, case management, environmental services, etc.). Strong problem solving skills.

Preferred:

Three years progressive clinical experience preferred.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

Required:

Current licensure as a Critical Care Paramedic in the State of Tennessee.

BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS
