Job Description
Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract An experienced Certified Surgical Technologist is sought to support general surgical procedures through skilled instrument handling and team collaboration. Working under the direction of Registered Nurses and surgical team members, this role is essential in preparing the operating room, anticipating surgical team needs, and supporting patient care with sensitivity and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Scrub in on general surgical procedures, ensuring readiness and aseptic technique Prepare the operating room by organizing tables, instruments, and supplies specific to each surgery Verify proper functioning of surgical equipment and report any repairs needed Follow departmental policies, safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards Provide comfort and support to pre-operative patients while respecting privacy and confidentiality Maintain a clean, clutter-free operating room environment and handle equipment and supplies responsibly Assist Registered Nurses with patient admission, transfer, and discharge within the OR Participate in training new staff and ongoing educational programs Support team communication and contribute to process improvements and efficiency in supply management Respond promptly to emergent situations according to established protocols Qualifications / Desired Experience: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (Certified Surgical Technologist - CST) Experience or training in perioperative nursing or OR techniques preferred Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and demonstrate excellent communication skills Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation Commitment to patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality Location Overview:
