Assistant Director - Emergency Medical Services

The Assistant Director of Emergency Medical Services supports the administrative, instructional, and qualityassurance functions of EMS courses offered through the Continuing Education Division, as well as the Emergency Medical Science program within the Academic Programs Division. This role assists in maintaining full program accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Emergency Medical Services Professionals (CoAEMSP) and contributes to the overall effectiveness and compliance of all EMS-related programming. Responsibilities include providing direct classroom instruction to students; ensuring all courses meet State and National EMS standards; developing course schedules, syllabi, goals, and objectives in alignment with the College Program Review process; and establishing and enforcing rules and regulations that guide student behavior.

The Assistant Director also contributes to curriculum and course development, including the creation of new program offerings, and supports the academic infrastructure by building and grading courses, performing data entry and filing, completing class visitations and course evaluations, and coordinating facility scheduling. Additionally, the position assists in managing and delivering programs associated with the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross.
