JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Assists practitioner in performance of procedures, telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records and relaying test results. Performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a physician or mid-level practitioner. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Samaritan Gastroenterology serves Linn, Benton, Lincoln, and parts of Marion and neighboring counties. Our team of physicians, physician associates, nurses, and support staff work together to provide full-spectrum care of our patients# digestive health. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic licensure required. Healthcare Provider BLS required. Experience or training in medical terminology preferred. Lab/EKG experience preferred. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Patient Care - Possess the skills and knowledge needed to assist and care for others. Ability to recognize symptoms, drug properties and interactions, treatments, and preventive health-care measures within scope of practice. Adaptability/Flexibility - Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations that may arise with high risk or diverse patient populations. Ability to adjust actions in relation to others and adapt to offer best possible care to patients. Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
