Baptist Health is looking to add a highly motivated and skilled Medical Technologist to join our team working in the Laboratory Department at Baptist Clay. This is a PRN opportunity, which offers various shifts and flexibility.

This candidate must hold a valid Medical Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida before hire. This candidate will be working within a team of 5-6 other Medical Technologists, Medical Lab Assistants, and a Supervisor, as well as working with the on-call Pathologists. This candidate will have the opportunity to rotate within different areas of the lab and sharpen their skills within each specialist. This Medical Technologist will be on the day shift during training.

As a Medical Lab Scientist II, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining expertise and performing technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Maintaining records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals
• Supervision by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
• Supervising MLTs as General Supervisor and serving as Charge Technologist in the abscense of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Working with the Director and Section Supervisors, however, the candidate can perform all responsibilities of this job description without onsite supervision.
• Instructing new employees and students.

License note: Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure Rules.
