Travel Medical Laboratory Technician Rome, GA

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an experienced Travel Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a contract opportunity in Rome, Georgia. This role is perfect for a skilled laboratory professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working night shifts on a 7 on/7 off schedule. Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility.

Position Details:

• Contract Type: Travel Assignment

• Shift: 7 on/7 off, 3rd shift

  • Weekdays: 7:00 PM 5:30 AM

  • Weekends: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM

• Schedule: Every other weekend, 75% of holidays, no on-call

• Floating: None

• Facility Size: 300+ beds, Level II Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Chest Pain & Stroke Center

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing in areas such as Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, and Serology

• Operate and maintain lab equipment and technology (EMR: EPIC; Beaker system)

• Ensure accurate and timely analysis of specimens for acute care patients

• Collaborate with peers and department leadership to maintain workflow and quality standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an MT/MLT/MLS (first-time travelers welcome)

• National certification through ASCP, AMT, or AAB (one required)

• Current BLS certification

• Proficiency in Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, and Serology

• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
