Lab Technician / Phlebotomist at Sherwood Urgent Care

Urgent Team is looking for an experienced Lab Technician to join our center at Sherwood Urgent Care in Searcy, AR. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience performing phlebotomy and other related duties.

The centers are open seven days a week: Mon. to Fri., 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, all Sherwood Urgent Care centers are Accredited Care Centers – a designation from the Urgent Care Association which recognizes the company’s commitment to safety, quality, and scope of services. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory procedures to support quality patient care, including specimen collection, processing, and testing Full-time team members work 36-40 hours each week, including every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
• Preparing, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, instruments, and work area to collect patient samples.
• Conducting designated laboratory testing.
• Performing venipuncture, arterial, and capillary punctures on patients.
• Identifying and labeling specimens.
• Instructing patients on urine collection procedures.
• Performing bleeding time tests and urine dipstick tests.
• Performing sweat chloride collection procedure or Drug of Abuse urine collection procedure.
• Entering laboratory data into the computer system.
• Perform other duties as required.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
• 1-2 years of experience performing phlebotomy
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting is preferred
• BLS Certification
