ROLE**

Laboratory Technician

**JOB DUTIES**

Understand and adhere to laboratory guidelines, SOPs, and regulatory standards.

Prepare reagents and materials on a daily or weekly basis for use in the laboratory.

Data entry and record keeping, including but not limited to, recording data onto laboratory bench sheets, entering data into laboratory LIMS, and scanning/ filing documents.

Properly use and maintain laboratory equipment.

Promptly report improperly functioning equipment to management.

Properly use laboratory consumables according to laboratory inventory SOPs.

Promptly report any issues with the laboratorys inventory to management.

Receive and stock new inventory supplies as dictated by laboratory inventory SOPs.

Process samples according to laboratory SOPs, regulatory standards, and contractual obligations without deviation.

Report issues with samples received by the laboratory to management as dictated by laboratory sample acceptance policies.

Perform *Legionella* assays as dictated by laboratory SOPs and regulatory standards such as TNI 2016 and ISO 11731.

Perform Heterotrophic Plate Count (HPC) assays as dictated by laboratory SOPs and regulatory standards such as TNI 2016 and Standard Method 9215C.

Perform various chemical analysis as dictated by laboratory SOPs and regulatory standards such as AAMI ST108:2024.

Use confirmatory analysis to accurately detect the presence or absence of *Legionella spp.* cultures as dictated by laboratory SOPs and regulatory standards such TNI 2016.

Ability to accurately calculate bacterial concentrations (CFU/mL).

Perform DNA amplification via PCR.

Package and ship samples for analysis to external laboratories.

Maintain the quality assurance and quality controls set forth by the Quality Manager, laboratory SOPs, and regulatory standards for all analytical procedures, equipment, and supplies.

Perform general upkeep and cleanliness of the laboratory daily.

Properly dispose of biohazard and hazardous waste within the laboratory daily.

Ability to use and understand Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Possess a knowledge of basic computer skills.

Answer phone calls as needed.

Ability to lift 50-pound boxes.
