Job Title: Supervisor, Surgical Technologist-Outpatient Department: Ambulatory Services | Dublin Operating Room Scope of Position
The Supervisor of Surgical Technologists functions as an integral member of a team of care providers in the Ambulatory Surgery Centers at the OSU Medical Center. The Supervisor of Surgical Technologists is responsible for the organization, direction, support and safe patient care delivery for the Perioperative care team. The surgical teams reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of maximizing patient care outcomes, improving customer service levels and decreasing costs. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members.

Position Summary
The Supervisor of Surgical Technologists works under the direction of the Manager of the operating room to facilitate service line support and daily operations. The Supervisor of Surgical Technologists is responsible for educating, coaching, and evaluating the work performance of the Surgical Technologists along with the Nurse Manager. The Supervisor of Surgical Technologist may occasionally be assigned to perform the scrub role in various surgical procedures and to perform routine unit tasks. The Supervisor of Surgical Technologists provides for safety/security of self and others and follows all special precautions as related to patient care. They maintain a clean/organized perioperative unit. The Supervisor of Surgical Technologists promotes a positive attitude to staff, families, and patient/guests as well as maintains patient confidentiality. The Supervisor of Surgical Technologists performs all tasks in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care, meets hospital continuing education and certification requirements, and upholds goals and objectives of the Department of Perioperative Services. The Supervisor of Surgical Technologists contributes to organizational effectiveness and demonstrates career growth and development. The Supervisor of Surgical Technologist works variable rotating shifts as assigned. Late shifts are assigned on a rotating basis.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must hold CST or TS-C certification. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
