Clinical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for the Companion Diagnostics (CDx) team. Agilents CDx business partners closely with leading pharmaceutical companies to develop, manufacture and commercialize in vitro diagnostic devices, which are a critical part of precision medicine. As a CLS, you will provide full end-to-end lab support in the CLIA-licensed Biopharma CDx Services Laboratory (BCSL). This support will include all aspects of day-to-day Histology operations (accessioning, embedding, cutting, staining, operation of the Omnis, and digital scanning of clinical tissue samples). The CLS will also be responsible for lab development projects such as writing of SOPs, providing scanner support, and performing qualification studies for new instrumentation.

Responsibilities:

• Works in a cross-functional team that supports clinical trials testing new targeted anti-cancer drugs

• Performs laboratory bench work including clinical testing (IHC and FISH), QC, and maintenance

• Provides direct supervision of histotechnicians/histotechnologists and laboratory assistants

• Participates in all aspects of assay validations including planning, execution, analysis, and interpretation

• Appropriately accesses and safeguards Protected Health Information (PHI) and all other confidential information

• Adheres to established laboratory policies/guidelines while maintaining a safe working environment

• Records data to comply with various internal and external regulations

• Ensures Good Documentation Practices (GDP)

• Ensures success through collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree or PhD in biological sciences or related life sciences field is preferred

• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license required. ASCP certification preferred but not required

• 4+ years of experience in a CLIA-certified laboratory performing high-complexity testing in relevant disciplines

• Supervisory/management experience preferred

• Research experience and/or test validation experience preferred

This job has a full time weekly schedule. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
