Patient Care Technician-Acute Care

East Acute Care is looking for a Full-Time Patient Care Technician. This position is willing to consider individuals with less than one year of patient care experience for this role. Apply today if interested!

• Patient Care : Assist with procedures, daily activities, physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies. Provide feedback to RN and report changes in patient status.
• Core Nursing Assistant Tasks : Blood glucose, weights, vital signs, I&O, specimen collections, Foley care, plus at least four BU tasks (phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, simple dressing, Foley catheter removal, point of care testing, bladder scan, straight catheter, IV catheter removal).
• Equipment & Communication : Report equipment malfunctions, establish effective communication with departments, maintain professional relationships, contribute to unit activities (call lights, telephones, meal trays, patient transport).
• Feedback & Learning : Receive feedback, identify learning needs, improve knowledge and skills, request assistance, participate in self-review.
• Patient Instruction : Provide instruction under RN direction, apply/monitor/remove restraints per protocol.
• Communication & Relationships : Communicate effectively with healthcare team, understand cultural diversity, support workplace safety, develop productive relationships.
• Policy Adherence : Adhere to patient care policies, comply with safety procedures.
• Department Support : Suggest/support changes, assume responsibility, support projects and quality initiatives.
• Documentation & Clerical Tasks : Document in medical record, perform work timely, complete clerical functions.
• Advanced Skills : Achieve/maintain competency in advanced skills (phlebotomy/venipuncture, peripheral IV removal, Foley catheter removal, basic arrhythmia, 12-lead EKG, NG tubes clamping/removal).
