Total Sleep is now recruiting for a Registered Sleep Tech to join our Tucson, Arizona team. Position Summary The purpose of this position is to independently function and operate medical equipment to record sleep/wake physiology. Position Accountabilities and Performance Criteria: • Efficient application of recording devices to the patient, cleaning/sterilization of equipment and monitoring of polysomnograms are essential duties. Ensure the integrity of diagnostic data collection through proper calibration and vigilant monitoring throughout the procedure. Ability to recognize sleep pathology when it occurs in the laboratory and respond with the appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety. • Prepare for arrival by setting up equipment to be used, gathering necessary patient information, activating the montage to be utilized, preparing video and audio equipment as appropriate, and gathering necessary patient questionnaires. • Set up nasal CPAP and BiPAP positive airway pressure, in accordance with established protocols. Performs special procedures such as pediatric polysomnograms and multiple sleep latency tests. • Ability to record, review and score polysomnograms for both adult and pediatric sleep studies and produce reports. • Ability and knowledge to follow all standard operating procedures at all time for patient studies and pre & post study requirements. • Assist Technical Director with any projects/educations/orientations and other related duties as assigned. Position Qualifications: • Minimum Education: o Active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required o High School required o Continuing education in sleep diagnostics required per state regulations • Minimum Experience: o Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists or eligible to become registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists • Skills: Administrative o Extensive knowledge of sleep diagnostic testing process and scoring o Basic computer skills o Answer telephones o Customer service skills • Clinical Competency o Requirement: Clinical Competency: Overnight Testing o Clinical Competency: Record Scoring o Clinical Competency: Multiple Sleep Latency o Clinical Competency: EKG Interpretation
