Job Title: Medical Lab Technician I - Cytopreparatory Company: Crittenton Hospital Medical Center Main Campus Location: Rochester, MI Description: Medical Lab Technician I - Cytopreparatory Laboratory Contingent Variable Under the direct supervision of the Medical Technologist V - Cytotechnologist, works closely with Histotechnologists, Medical Technologists, Specimen Processors and Section Leader of his/her assigned section toward the completion of the routine section workload for patients of all age groups. This effort is directed toward the timely, efficient accurate and precise production of laboratory data for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Duties may encompass but not exclusively entail working with various devices, machines and instruments that aid in the production of clinical data. Additionally, handles specimens from various sources (i.e., Gynecologic, Respiratory, Fine Needle Aspirations, and body fluids)which may be infectious in nature. Performs only routine tests. Minimum Requirements: 1. Theoretical and practical knowledge of tests and procedures (within the last three years) necessary to perform technical functions and clinical evaluations as generally acquired through experience in Cytology, a related science or equivalent experience (within the last three years).
