Job Title: MLT- PRN Company: Logan Memorial Hospital Location: Russellville, KY Description: Position Summary:Performs hematological, chemical, microscopic, morphologic, immunologic and microbiologic testing in a prompt and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies. May help to set up new methodologies, help develop procedural protocols, and train lab personnel in procedures and the use of instrumentation. Participates in PI activities and supports the hospital in meeting JCAHO accreditation standards. Helps other departments as assigned or needed on a prn basisII. Position Requirements:A. Education: An Associates degree (or equivalent) for a MLT, a bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Medical Technology for a MT.B. Experience: Experience gained in fulfilling the clinical requirements to quality for the registry examination.C. Special qualifications: Good communication skills, detail oriented, and computer skills helpful. Ability to work alone or with others as a team to ensure quality patient care.III. Degree of Supervision Required: Involves guidance and direction by supervisor and/or department manager. The Tech is expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. IV. Ages of Patients Served:This position requires competence in assessment, treatment, and/or care for the age groups indicated. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area.
