This position is functionally assigned to the Director, Surgical Services.  The incumbent performs duties associated with cardiovascular procedures to evaluate patients with cardiovascular disease.Key Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required. This is a Department of Navy drug testing designated position. State Criminal Repository Check required. Pre-employment physical is required. Basic Life Support and Advance Cardiac Life Support are required. Major Duties: The incumbent assists physicians with cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, performing transeptal procedures, performing intravascular/intracardiac ultrasonography, invasive electrophysiology and surgical procedures, insertion of intra-aortic balloons catheters, initiation/discontinuation of Intra-aortic balloon pump therapy, obtains intravenous access vial small peripheral vessels, prepares patients for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, administration of meds, monitors patients temperature, blood pressure, heart rate rhythm, oxygen saturation, pain level and level of consciousness, transports patients to and from the cardiac catheterization lab, assist with electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, exercises treadmill testing, holter monitoring, pacemaker and defibrillator devices. Qualifications: SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position has three selective placement factors needed in order to qualify. The actual Selective Placement Factors are: must hold current valid certificates in  1) Basic Life Support and 2) Advanced Cardiac Life Support and also must hold  3) a certificate of graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular  or Cardiopulmonary Technologist program by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Cardiovascular Technology.  Failure to possess these three factors WILL result in an ineligible rating. Possession of the factor must be verifiable via your resume. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 07 grade level in the Federal service.
