Conducts examination of cytology specimens, indicates representative areas with ink dots, and evaluates samples comparing clinical data with the microscopic picture to make an accurate cytodiagnosis. Verifies patient demographics on worksheet correlates with patient's name and accession number on smears. Enters and verifies "Within Normal Limits" results on the computer on routine gynecologic slides. Enters and performs results of other gynecologic cases (High Risk, No endocervicals, random selection, reactive and SIL/Malignant) and all Non-gynecological cases prior to submitting these for review by the Cytology Supervisor and/or Pathologists. Documents the total number of slides examined in any laboratory and the time spent in this examination and maintains work logs to reflect activities other than screening.
